The annual meeting of the Park Estates Homeowners Association will be held Tuesday, May 10, at 6 p.m. at the Masonic Temple, 5155 Pacific Coast Highway. At the meeting, homeowners will hear the presentation of the annual budget approved by the Board of Directors and elect eight representatives to the board.

The evening will begin with a dinner catered by El Burrito Grill, a Mexican restaurant on Pacific Coast Highway that provided food for the annual meeting several years ago. Desserts will come from Cafe Lorel, located in the same center on PCH. There will be time to meet with your neighbors and tract representatives prior to the beginning of the business meeting.

A representative of the Long Beach Airport will talk about the developments at the airport and what may be ahead with more airlines, more flights, and the possibility of an international flight facility. There will also be a presentation by a representative of the East Division of the Long Beach Police Department.
In addition to the six board seats that would normally be up for election this year, two other seats are occupied by residents who were appointed to the board. Under the PEHA bylaws, their appointments to the board expire at the annual meeting.

The open seats for two-year terms are in tracts 14673, 14674 (one of two representatives), 14675, 15545, 15836 and 17908. The seats for one-year terms are in tracts 19845 and 22718. In order to be elected to the board, a resident has to live in the tract in which he or she is elected. If no one from a tract runs for election, the board may appoint a resident of another tract to serve on the board.

PEHA President Ted Brodeur encourages any resident who is interested in serving on the board to contact him at (562 233-1557). The board meets on the third Thursday of the month.
